Post Is it really possible?!
It has been seven months since I got my CPAP machine, almost a year to the day that I joined this wonderful web site.  This past weekend, for the first time, I think, I slept for six hours straight.  Last night, I was so quiet, my girl friend said I scared her.  She came to see if I was alive, put her hand under mine, to see if I would move, and when I did, she said, "Oh, good, she's alive!"  Smile

I had blood work done and my cholesterol has gone down, and everything else is normal.  My sugar is 98, it used to be 91, but it will be again.  My triglicerides, liver, and whatever else the doctor checked, and which I can't remember right now, is all fine.

My question is this:  I have read somewhere that taking care of sleep apnea can produce positive changes, not just giving us more energy.  Could it make a difference in results like the ones I've listed or am I way off base?

I'm also not feeling sleepy at work the way I used to.  I think I was once last week, but it's much more rare now.

I have still not lost the weight I wanted to, and still deal with depression, but there have been so many other changes.  If anyone doubts that it can happen, I would say that, sometimes it can be quite subtle, and then one day, or week, or month, you may realize that things really  have changed.

Thank you, to all the moderators, and everyone here who has given me support, not just by answering my posts, but sharing your experiences for everyone to read.  So I guess this thank you goes to us all.

Yes Debbie...it is true....treating our SA will help us in many areas!

I can also say that from this board a group of us girls have got together and started our own support board to better our health through better eating, exercise and talking our problems out.  My weight has not gone down much but I am eating healthier and caring more about myself.  I am more active throughout the day due to this support.  All of us in the group are from here...the ASAA board.  One of our members reported today that she saw her sleep Dr today who lowered her pressure because she has lost about 23 lbs so far.

I am sooooo happy to hear you are getting results!  YOU GO GIRL!

Thank you, Mrs. RVW.  Sometimes it feels like I take two steps forward and three back, but I'll get there.  It can only get better.  Today I'm tired, but it's not the same kind of tired as before CPAP.  And I exercised even though I was sure I wouldn't want to before I got home from work.
