Post How long do they stop breathing?
I watched my daughter sleep last night. She stop breathing a couple times. She took a breath and held it for 8-10 seconds. How long is too long? Is this normal?

it's not considered apnea unless it is 10 sec or more

Apneas are counted differently by the age and weight of the child. The general rule is that it is an apnea event if they stop breathing for 8 seconds or more with a drop in heartrate (that goes up immediately with their next breath) AND a drop in the Oxygen saturation of at least 2%. This is what our pulmonologist explained to us, there may be more info out there.

As a mom, if your gut says do something, then do it. Most doctors will completely agree that a mother's intuition is almost always right on..
