Post 8 month old adnoid removal - no improvement in apnea
My 8 month old son had his adnoids removed and vocal cords trimmed on November 28.  please forgive me I cant remember the technical terms for the procedures.  He was diagnoised with obstructive apnea by his ENT.  He would make gasping - hyperventilating like noises when he was sleeping and sometimes stop breathing all together.  He would wake up crying and scared when this happened.  When he made the hyperventilating noises there were times he would be very difficult to wake up during these episodes.  My fear is that he doesnt seem to have improved at all since the surgery.  We have a follow up appt with his ENT wednesday, I had called him to ask why he was still having problems and his response was that he is still healing and sometimes it gets worse before it gets better.  How long does this process usually take?  It's torture to watch your baby gasp for air and stop breathing.  I can only imagine what he's going through.  Any info anyone can give would be so much appreciated.
