Ive had 2 corrugated air hoses and both eventually got small leaks near the end that joins to the mask, it can be difficult to realise there is a leak as its near the air airoutlet
I agree with testing hoses for airleaks, perhaps by blocking the end and putting it in water with the machine on and looking for bubbles
swapping ends occasionally may make the hose last longer, have now got a hose of the other smooth wound type, twice as expensive so hope it lasts longer
some say the corrugated hoses trap germs and are less hygenic, but others say the corrugations trap mucus if sleeping with a runny nose but the smooth hoses dont>>>?
Hi Lynn,
Leaks in the hose are very common. On average they seem to leak every 12 months or so. A good check is to turn on your machine (without the ramp), cover the mask with your hand and run your other hand along the hose. You can feel any small jets of air escaping. Holes are usually very small (like pin pricks), but once you notice one they start to become more numerous.
I rent my machine and the hose is considered part of the machine, as are filters. Should I need either, a phone call to my supplier is all that's required for a replacement (Thank God).
