Post A newbie (Provigil covered by insurance)
First of all, I'm a newbie here and have found everyone's comments and input to be extrememly valuable.   Thanks to all of you who take the time to reply to everyone's questions.

I was just diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea 2 weeks ago.  The sleep study was a miserable experience.  I hardly slept.  I dont' understand how they were able to get accurate results.  I guess I slept more than I thought I did.

I've been having daytime fatigue for a few years and have been taking Provigil to help stay awake during the day.  Speaking of Provigil, my insurance won't cover it.  Does anybody think that now, since I've had the positive diagnosis, that insurance will start paying?  I'm on Greatwest Healthcare.  Does anyone here use Provigil?

Anyway,  I still haven't scheduled my titration study, b/c I'm dreading the procedure.  I know I need to do it, and I will...........I'm just procrastinating.

PS..... I've gained 75 pounds over the past 3 years and am glad to know that this could be a factor of the OSA.  Maybe once I start sleeping again, I'll be able to lose it.

PSS.... Sorry for the choppines, but I'm in a hurry............I was also diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome, which I'm now taking medication for.  Are the two often working in cohorts with each other?

Thanks again for the  great info.  I will definitley visit this site more often....................
