Postby imdwalrus » Thu Jun 28, 2007 12:19 am

Hi there--
Has anyone experienced bloodshot eyes as a result of CPAP? Any idea what could cause it? Thanks!

Are you having leaks around your nose? Even tiny leaks might irritate your eyes.

Actually, it hasn't happened to me but to a friend of mine. I will be starting CPAP shortly. Thanks for the info!

I suffered from redness& itchy eyes & eye strain. I went to an opathmologist he said I suffered from dry eyes. He gave me natural tears eye drops which I use morning & evening. since using the eye drops my symptoms are greatly improved.

the usual cause is air leaks from the top of the mask
some say high pressure air can be blown up the tear ducts and effect the eyes, others say this cant happen

a possibility is an allergy to the silicone rubber that is used for most masks, some masks made from a different plastic are available
